Cars back up on Cornerview Rd as one train immobile for over an hour on Monday

What happens when an irresistible force is on a collision course with another irresistible force?  In the case of two trains heading in opposite directions on one track; immovable objects (including a couple of hundred temporarily immobile cars on several Gonzales city streets.

According to Police Chief Sherman Jackson, a late arrival to Monday’s Gonzales City Council meeting a few blocks away from his Cornerview Rd office, “a malfunctioning switch on the railroad tracks led to a train blocking all intersections within the city. Kansas City Railroad has advised us that the train cannot be moved until the switch is fixed.”

Cornerview traffic backed up past to Burnside

It could have been worse.
