Creative Aging Symposium + Arts for Alzheimer’s Reception (11/28)

Baton Rouge, LA – November 5th, 2018- The Creative Aging Symposium and Arts for Alzheimer’s Reception will take place Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at
Pennington Biomedical Conference Center, 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. This day-long event will include interactive sessions in the arts, workshops, and other resources for
creative means of communication and memory retention. We have specifically curated this informative and engaging day of arts integration for seniors, their families, caregivers, and elder care professionals.

Featured speakers for this event include internationally acclaimed author and music therapist Christine Stevens, Research Scientist with the Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation at the Atlanta VA and Assistant Professor in the Emory School of Medicine, Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics, Dr. Madeleine Hackney, and National Endowment of the Arts Accessibility Director Beth Bienvenu. Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge have partnered to present this event, which is supported, in part, by the Lamar Family Foundation.
