Guilty Pleas for the Week of November 27-December 1

During the week of November 27-December 1, 2017, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District-Ascension

  • James Dixon, 108 E Railroad St. Gonzales, LA., age 46, pled guilty to DWI 4th Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  • Elizabeth Fuentes, 1239 N Ezidore St. Gramercy, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Theft Over $750 and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Over $1500. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. It was ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.
  • Devontia Thompson, 1930 W Worthey Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Simple Burglary, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. On the charges of Simple Burglary and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, the defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. On the charge of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, the defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. It was further ordered that the said sentence is to be suspended, and the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation. The defendant is to spend the first 2 years in a rehabilitation facility. Upon successful completion, the defendant is to serve 2 years on home incarceration. Upon completion, the defendant is to remain on supervised probation for 1 year.
  • Kenneth Rogers, 59606 Hwy 1054 Amite, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $5,000, but Less than $25,000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  • Christopher McBride, 609 Pine St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. On the charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, the defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, the defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. It was further ordered that the said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Phil Maples and Shawn Bush. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

  • Wilbert Glover, 14496 Oak Meadow St. Gonzales, LA., age 53, pled guilty to Molestation of a Juvenile. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

In St. James Parish:

  • Brandon David, 12033 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.
