Deputy Assessor Lisa Jones earns Certification

Congratulations to Lisa Jones!  Lisa is the latest Assessor’s Office deputy to gain certification through the Louisiana Assessor’s Association and the International Association of Assessing Officers, the leading training and learning organization for assessment professionals worldwide.

Becoming a Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor is an achievement that is not without merit.  The coursework set out by IAAO ensures competency in a wide range of matters covering property valuation for tax purposes, property tax administration, and property tax policy.  Earning a certification demonstrates the highest level of professionalism available in the field of appraising.

Lisa, a thirteen year veteran of the Assessor’s Office, was essentially born into the APAO family. Her mother Judy Hidalgo retired from the Assessor’s Office after thirty-three years of service. In essence, Lisa has been a part of the Assessor’s Office family her whole life and her employment there denotes a noble rite of passage into public service.  Lisa is a deputy in the Appraisal Department.

“I am very proud of Lisa earning her Certification, it takes a lot of dedication to reach this level in her career.  At the Ascension Parish Assessor’s Office, training is very important because of the ever-changing assessment criteria,” said Assessor Smiley.
